Pittas and Pirates (shiver me timbers)

Well, the weekend started wonderfully, with Hubby making more yummy pittas, this time adding cumin seeds and chilli flakes...

and we filled them with Moroccan houmous (even better than plain) and home-made falafel - one of my most favourites things. YUM YUM YUM, what a lucky girl!

washing them down with a French Martini (recipe on the Recipe page)

Sunday the weather was perfect, bright and sunny and off we went to the theatre with Mum & Dad to see Gilbert & Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance.  This is an outdoor theatre and we had a picnic before the performance beneath a shady tree, which was lovely.

The theatre is in the grounds of a beautiful old house, now Kilworth House Hotel.  We've been before to eat at their restaurant in the fabulous Victorian Orangery and Mum & Dad had their 50 wedding anniversary party there last year - the food is AMAZING.

The theatre itself is great and is in a wooded area of the grounds full of beautiful smelling orange blossom, and a log cabin nearby where you can get food & drinks

The performance was awesome, I love the story & songs anyway, but the actors were fab and really hammed it up, we all laughed and clapped along...

A fabulous weekend, and somewhere I'd definitely go again - the next performance later in the year is Little Shop of Horrors, so if I can persuade Hubby... x
