Sewing goodies galore

My mother-in-law surprised me again last week by leaving a couple of bags in my garage, full of Hubby's late-aunt's sewing supplies.

I couldn't wait to sort through the bags and found some real goodies...

lovely floral tin, full of felt pieces

wonder what she was kintting here with these tiny toothpicks? doll clothes perhaps?

these deliciously coloured silk yarns

funky fringe...

and abosolutely TONS of embroidery tranfers, and I mean TONS, some in booklet form...

a kit waiting to be stitched, and lots of books full of tranfers too

as well as a couple of tapestrys waiting to be made

here are a couple of my favourite tranfers so far (it's going to take years to get through them all)

pretty crinoline ladies & cottage garden

gorgeous chinoserie
a few patterns too from the 60s to the 80s

yet more transfer books

I haven't seen any completed embroidery that my Hubby's late aunt created, but wow, that's some collection of transfers! I haven't done any embroidery since I was a little girl, but I think I'll have to make a start again! x

  1. holy! you scored big time! those iron on transfers are amazing! the birds and flowers! oh man, very jealous! i can't wait to see what you start, so much to pick from...have fun!

    1. right! where to start? I've got some lovely linen napkins that'd make a great gift, perhaps some monograms? or flowers, or birds, oh decisions, decisions! :D xox
