Yorkshire Getaway - part 1

Oh bliss, to get away for a few days.  For my birthday this year we decided upon Yorkshire, and Harrogate more specifically.  We specially looked for somewhere we could take Dusty, and we found the Harrogate Arms...

It's a lovely inn, right next door to RHS Harlow Carr Gardens, and as such is right next to woodland. They couldn't do enough for us, the food was fantastic, our room was just right, & Dusty got such a warm welcome (& a breakfast sausage!).

please can I have another sausage?

They also have two lovely donkeys and a host of birds of prey (you can book an experience with them).
When we arrived Monday we found a pathway across the road which led us through beautiful woodland & out into a gorgeous park (Valley Gardens), the weather was fantastic too, sunny & chilly ...

all the benches around Harrogate are serpents

crocuses galore
this lovely pavillion is a cafe

Harrogate is a lovely town, this street reminds me of Paris

The mineral spa baths

this lovely plaque was at the edge of the forest, nestled amongst the trees

and some of the beloved family-dedicated benches had favourite passages or poetry attached (such a lovely thing to do)

It was Dusty's first holiday, and the first time he'd had to sleep in the same room as us, I'm pleased to say, he was such a good boy & stayed in his bed for the most part (doesn't he look comfy)...

I'll tell you about the rest of the trip, including a trip to York, tomorrow :) x
