Yorkshire Getaway - part 2

On my birthday we decided to go to York, just a short drive away from Harrogate.  The weather couldn't have been better, warm & sunny, but fresh, and for once, no rain, hurrah!

York is another beautiful city, and we had another great day wandering round the little city streets with Dusty (who had so much fuss made about him from people)...

...York is a walled city, one of its Gates

and another Gate - dogs are banned from the city walls

the beautiful York Minster

one of the many small lanes, full of cute boutiques & shops

beautiful buildings

a walk by the river, we also stopped for a bite of lunch near here, sitting right next to the river

gorgeous town houses looking out onto the river

castle keep

We stopped at Patisserie Valerie to get a piece of cake for my birthday - everything in the window looked delicious!

Hubby had the carrot cake (how good of him) whilst I went all out with the double chocolate mousse gateau - it was HEAVEN and absolutely huge - the one piece was approx 3 inches high and 5 inches long - I had to eat it over two days!

Hee hee, Happy Birthday to me, yum :D

Hubby brought along a few gifts for me to open too, my sister-in-law had put together this trug filled with goodies...

and he treated me to (our favourite combination of gifts) a book, a dvd and some music :)

Love that Jeeves, huge fan of Air, & of course Sherlock!
